I have recently returned from a wonderful week away camping with about 14,000 other people at Shepton Mallet Showground. Glamorous it is not but uplifting - I cannot begin to tell you. If you paint the picture of the realities of the scene I squirm with discomfort but actually when you're there living it, then it just works. Hundreds of people sharing small amounts of toilets and showers, no washing up facilities, agricultural ground, you get the idea.
It's all in the name of New Wine. You can find out more from this video.
I listened to lots of amazing people speak and share their hearts, I was touched, moved and challenged. However there was one man who was just so inspirational, so of the moment, so real and so unforgettable. He is Bishop Zac from Kampala in Uganda. When he spoke he made everything so simple, so clear, so obvious. I wanted to share him with you, so when I found this clip on YouTube I was delighted. Here he is. This man really inspired me, I mean really, really, really.
Dear oh dear, when I read "New wine" for a moment I tried to make myself believe that you had gone to a drunken week of winetasting IN A FIELD... I was glad to read that the spirit of the occasion was not (or at least not mainly ;-)) alcohol based...
