I am very aware that I haven't shared any radiators with you recently, that is people who radiate exceptional warmth and love voluntarily and for no ulterior motive, just because of who they are.
So I want tell you about an amazing group of people who supported and encouraged me throughout the early hours of the morning. A couple of weeks ago I took part in a sponsored midnight walk to raise money for a local hospice. Myself and over 1000 other women walked 10km around Bath in the early hours of Sunday morning wearing bunny ears (of course)! We set off at midnight and took just over 2 hours to complete the route.
It would not have been as safe for us (I was amazed at how much traffic there was) if there had not been a sturdy group of stewards at crucial and regular points along the way looking out for us. We ladies were sponsored and so were raising money with every step we took. The stewards however had given up sleep and comfort voluntarily to watch us walk and keep us safe. The thing is, is that they did it with such joy and gusto. Every one of them cheered us on with encouraging remarks and humorous comments to make us smile and giggle every time we passed them. I was so touched by their kindness and their presence.
It got me thinking about all the people who stand at the sidelines of my journey through life and just cheerfully encourage me on, even when I'm exhausted and dragging my heels, there they are. My heart is full of gratitude for these cheerleaders and inspirers. Where would we all be without those encouraging words that come at just the right time?
