I'm quite an old fashioned girl at heart and am very partial to traditions, especially ones passed down through generations. Christmas is full of them and as well as taking on my own family's special ways of doing things we are creating new customs, ones that I hope my children will remember and enjoy for years to come. Each year we get a couple more decorations for the tree which have been traditionally made by the children but this year they allowed me to join in! We also have the addition of the Knitivity this year, much to my delight and everyone else's dismay - one tradition that may not continue.

However one of my favourite aspects of this time of year is the reflection that occurs, the chance to look back and remember the year that was. Now I used to be that controversial person who indulged my reflections in the form of a Round Robin update, I like to think in a suitably chatty and informative way as opposed to an annoyingly smug form. However with the arrival of Social Media the annual newsletter has become somewhat redundant. Now, if you want to know what's happening in my world - find me on
Facebook, read my
Tweets, look at my
Flickr Stream, check out my
LinkedIn Profile, look at
Google+ or most importantly subscribe to my blog. You will always be up to date. The great feature of all these tools is that you choose, you can filter and make the decision yourself to opt in or out! I hope it's In!
So be not dismayed when a letter fails to fall out of your card this year instead delight yourself in the prospect that you can catch up with your social friends as and when you desire throughout the year. That's the joy of social media!
Yes,I agree, how apposite! Thanks for your blogs throughout the year - I enjoyed reading them. Have a fabulous Yuletide.
